About Our Center
|
The Roxbury Presbyterian Church's Social Impact Center(SIC) is the community outreach arm of the church. The SIC's mission is to develop and implement educational and economic programs to strengthen the Roxbury community. The SIC Computer Technology Center's(CTC) goal is to provide job training for unemployed and underemployed adults and basic computer literacy classes for adults and seniors. The CTC will also be utilized by the students in our summer program through our "Adopt-A-School" program with the Higginson-Lewis K-8 and the Dearborn Middle School.
The CTC is part of the Timothy Smith Network and is home to 12 state of the art computers. With secured funding from the Timothy Smith Fund the CTC is assured of up to date hardware and software for twenty years. The CTC was recently awarded a Large Software Grant from Microsoft and will soon begin holding "train the trainer" classes for staff of the Timothy Smith Network Centers. |
